They’re a tad reachy, especially for a NE girl with no hooks, but, I think you know that. Just work on finding someplace that is both an admissions and a financial safety – and go for it!

That’s tough for me to say. A safety should be someplace you’ve visited and feel comfortable with the possibility of being there for four years. Three schools on your list, Fairfield, Providence and Skidmore, don’t seem to be turning away applicants; each one is slightly different than the other. Fairfield is one of the largest colleges on your list and Providence is relatively smaller, but Catholic and the only one that describes itself as being in an urban area.

Skidmore comes closest in feel to some of your LAC choices and, even though its website doesn’t make a fuss about it, it’s a fairly popular school in its own right so, I hesitate in calling it an absolute safety.

Some other places you may want to investigate are:

Drew University (NJ)
Wagner College (New York City)
Hampshire (MA)
The University of Vermont

youre good for skidmore! as a love of bowdoin I would say that it is still a reach because of your test scores and your non-standout ecs. Colby and bates are also reaches in maine. Wesleyan is a reach. I think that if you brought your test scores up more you would have a good chance of getting in with a defined and original essay! I love your school choices though!
