Nice stats! Some comments…

1) I wasn’t aware they had European History and Italian SAT II’s…is that something you “plan” to take and had posted a projected score? cuz I took the SAT II’s last 2 month ago and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t those two subjects listed.

2) Your fluency in those languages definitely bolster your position, especially with a humanities oriented college like Columbia. Your scores are also fine, and all the objective academic data would prob put you above average in the Columbia pool. However, you still need supportive teacher recs that stress your contributions to the classroom.

3) EC’s - be sure to stress the most important part of what you did for each thing, make it insightful on the application. They’re fine. So are the awards.

4) I’m assuming youre applying to the Columbia College. Even though you seem pretty good right now, know that competitive school admissions can be very subjective. Do your best, and you definitely have a shot!

GL

Thank you for your input!

Regarding the SAT II’s, different ones are administered every testing date. I took italian in december 2008 and EU
history in october 2009

that’s a very strong profile; i would say you have a very good chance for admission.

You don’t already attend Columbia?! Great profile. 15% of each class are international, and so many have attended international schools their entire lives. Your language skills will also be a huge plus.

If you work hard on the applications, I’m sure you will be admitted to a few great schools at the very least.

In answer to the title: NO!!! (not commenting on your chances :stuck_out_tongue: )

^ that was corny…lol
