id say higher act/sat score as well as be really dedicated to two of your EC's. you have a lot going on there. colleges want to see one or two activities that you're really dedicated to. whats your class schedule been like?

Highly unlikely for Northwestern University, and The Wharton School of Business at the Univ. of Pennsylvania is not a realistic option based on your posted info. Consider Wake Forest Univ., Lehigh Univ., Indiana Univ., Babson & Fordham. Also, depending on your state of residency, there may be some other great options for you.

well more then upenn (which i guess is out of my league lol), i really want to go to northwestern...im in IL which i think helps and im planning to apply early. im hoping to get my act up to a 32 in april. i know a bunch of people who got into northwestern...and their stats werent even as good as mine. thats why i dont understand why you all say that itll be a reach for me. i think i have a fair chance of getting into northwestern.

aw, i wouldn't say she had no chance at all. that's harsh. i agree with tennisboy. increase your SAT scores a little + dedicate yourself to a few of those extracurriculars.

stephaniem, is it ok that i just take the ACT? or do u recommend taking the SAT as well? im planning on taking SAT II's in may and june.
as for extracurriculars, im a leader in everything im in..i will be captain of my badminton team, ill be president of key club, and hopefully on the board of nhs. sooo does that not show dedication?

well u see the problem is this: they want to see that you take leadership roles from early on in high school. u are getting these roles senior year so they might think that you are trying to game the system. theres nothing u can really do to help that though. the badminton, key club, nhs stuff is great, but you need to show what you have done in these clubs. a title is great, but you need to show them how you made a difference.....again for business schools, let me know what you are looking for in a school. northwestern doesn't have an undergrad business school. if you are looking for other undergrad schools with similar feel to northwestern i would recommend boston college, villanova, and georgetown. they are all top 15 in the us and have the same size/college feel as northwestern. they also try to teach ethical behavior in their business schools(because they are catholic universities) unlike many others

i would take the sat to see if u do better. i took the sat and act and did much better on the act, but taking the sat can only help you because if u do better it will look better. as for the other schools: if u want to major in business i suggest going to businessweek.com's undergrad b-school rankings. duke and uoc dont have undergrad b-schools.
