Also, I am part of a Science Research Program which only has about 100 students out of 4000. In the program we conduct scientific research and present our findings at major competitions across the city.

Thanks for all responses.

Your ECs and experience are very impressive, and your grades are good. You don't seem to have varied awards, which might count against you, especially since some are only at the school level. However, mostly, I would pull those SATs slightly higher, since they are a little below average, by about 50-70 points on the 1600 scale, I think. Also the SAT IIs... try for high 600s, low 700s at least. At this point, you have a good chance of being GSP-ed because of your SATs. If you got them up to average or above, you have a very good chance of getting into the four year program.

That's my opinion, anyway. Getting other opinions is probably a good idea.

GSPed. (10char)

Definitely GSP.

So, whats more important for me to do... improve my SAT I to the 1300's or get good SAT II grades?

Getting the SAT I into the 1300s is more important.

Thanks for all your responses, really appreciate it.

I second post #6.

Since NYU superscores, is it ok if I just do better in one section to get it over 1300? Or should I try to get over a 1300 in one sitting?

If you feel like you'll get a higher score by just focusing on one area and getting that score much higher (rather than spreading the higher score around), go for it.

It all depends on what would give you a higher score overall, although I would aim for getting a better score in both the CR and math sections. You can focus on one, but try for the latter as well.

I made NYU w/a 1350/1600 SAT. Try to raise your Math from a 610 to mid/upper 600s and get your CR to ~700. If you can, you'll be in good shape. Going from your 1270 to the mid 1300s could mean going from GSP to the 4-year program, which I'm sure is what you want.

What's are the differences between GSP-CAS and 4 year-CAS? For GSP, I know a student must maintain 3.0 or above for two years. A GSP student is on track to complete the 4 year degree on time, right?

I mean I transferred to Stern as a soph this year. I had poor SATs and wasn't admitted my senior year and not offered GSP. If I was offered GSP, I would've definitely accepted.

the minute i read your stats, my thoughts were GSP'd.
your SAT score is quite low for CAS.
