<p>Hi, I'm currently a junior. I just wanted to know what kind of a chance I stand at the places I plan on applying to next year. I know its pretty long so thanks for taking time to read this.</p>

<p>Locations: Costa Rica
Male
Class Rank: My school doesnt rank but my GC says I'm 2/100
Gpa- 3.9UW and 4.9W
Course load: I'm taking full Ib diploma, mATH HL, econocmis HL, spanish A1 HL, english A2 HL, physics SL, business and management SL</p>

<p>SAT I`s = 2100 ( I know this sucks, I'm retaking this january, hopefully I'll break 2200. I'm gonna study all through december and january to raise my scores)
Math- 730
CR- 680 ( i KNOW, I know...)
W- 690 ( I know....)</p>

<p>SAT II-
Spanish 800
Math IIC- 780
Physics-730</p>

<p>ECs-
Guitar lessons- 8 yrs and running, 3 hrs/week, I've finished my music school's electric guitar courses and I'm starting classical guitar</p>

<p>Emo band- Yeah lol, I have my own emo band, we've been playing for 4yrs now, 6-5hrs/week. I'm the founder, lead guitar and composer for most of our songs.</p>

<p>German lessons- 4 yrs now... 4 hrs/week</p>

<p>Remote Control cars- 5 yrs, 5 hrs/week, lol I know, this is one of my major hobbies. I go about once a week (mostly sundays) to a track and race ( not in formal races) my gasoline remote control car.</p>

<p>Knowledge bowl team- 2yrs, 1 hr actual meetings and about 2 hrs practicing (per week), member since its founding, I'm a permanent member of the team, we just won 3rd place in a central american tournament</p>

<p>Volunteer at hospital- I'm a permanente volunteer at the local childrens hospital, 2 yrs, 3 hrs/week</p>

<p>Tutor- 2 yrs, 3hr/week ( 1 hr tutoring, 2 hrs preparing material and games). I tutor low income kids who have problems with school in general. I teach them english, spanish, math, costa rican history and general science.</p>

<p>charity fundraising company- 2yrs now, about 5hrs/ week (we regularly meet saturday night). Me and a friend started a charity company. We produce shirts, throw parties, design webpages ( well he does, I just help on this one), give tutoring etc. All our profits are given to different places such as poor school, hospitals or churches. I hold the position of financial manager, but really we all work together.</p>

<p>International relations- 2hrs/week, 2yrs, we basically have debates and MUNs.</p>

<p>Colleges hoping to apply to:
Upenn- wharton ED
Georgetown
Vanderbilt
Notre Dame
Princeton ( I'm just applying so that I won't regret it later)
Harvard ( same here, I know its a longshot)
UCB
NYU- stern
Purdue</p>

<p>you know, I had his friend who got into Penn who wrote his essay on pool (billiards). So maybe put the rc cars in that line of thought? it's not really something youd put on ur app otherwise.</p>

<p>Ok thanks, I was thinking about writing something like that. I really want to make my essay standout, so I was thinking about non-common topics that say something about me. I had one were I could write about how you can learn a lot from a person by the type of shoe they use ( sneaker, formal etc). And how my shoes reflect my personality. I dont know if that sounds lame , but i really like the idea, what do you think about it?</p>

<p>wow i think u have a great shot. especially since u created ur own emo band. i founded and led my own string ensemble, but i dont make up my own songs! gj!</p>
