Thanks for any help you give

Accepted ED to Georgetown?

Sorry if that wasnt clear, I meant Early Action not Early Decision

You;ll find out in a week.

don't you mean like 3 weeks?>

Yeah, three weeks. Sorry, I need sleep right now. :p

Probably depends on your essays and how you marketed yourself to the adcoms. If they see you as an interesting person behind all those numbers and awards and think that you have something to contribute to the diversity of their freshmen class then you're probably in. If you're just a bunch of numbers, then you could be any of their applicants so a rejection letter will be more likely...

It all comes down to whether you're unique or not, whether you have something that makes you stand out from the applicant pool...

GOOD LUCK!

I will hunt you down and assassinate you (like UndeadRussian's ninjas) if you take my spot!!!!! :( :D

It looks really good. URM, 1470 M+V, and 4.0uw soph yr on (Princeton ignores freshman grades). Be patient, but you do have a great shot.

I don't know....ECs look really sparse:

Class President
Speech and Debate Captain
Intern at a lobbyist firm
*Various Sports

This is really all you've got ( i took out summer stuff and awards) and so I really don't know.

Actually, I did forget one EC, i was the lead in Macbeth (Lady M.) and did volunteer Childrens Theatre. Thanks for all your help everyone, good luck to anyone applying

You've got a really great chance. Your extracurriculars aren't that outstanding, but I think that being Hispanic should make up for it and your grades and test scores are fine. You've got as good a shot as anyone.

OMG I think you gusy are smoking the weed. How the **** does he not have good EC's??? He's freakin' Class President, prez of a club, has interned before, and still plays SPORTS!!!

URM+good SAT score+good SAT 2's+amazing EC's+good GPA w/strong courseload...

I give you a 70-80% shot at getting into Princeton. You will be almost an auto-admit if your recs and essays are top-notch.

Good luck.:)

He does have good extra-curriculars - they are very solid - he just does not have any extracurriculars that will stand out in the applicant pool.

Dude, what EC actually stands out in the Ivy applicant pool??? Very few people are national champions at their respective talent/hobby and out of those students, very few have the time and energy to maintain what an Ivy would deem to be a solid academic standing in high school.

I really want to know!!! What would you guys consider to be a TOP and unique EC/summer program/award for the Ivies, in particular HYP.

lol, just so everyone knows im actually a girl. Thanks everyone for the help.... my guidance counselor is so useless, the last time I spoke to her she said she didn't know what a good score is on the new SAT, so all help is appreciated

Heh, sorry AEF. Don't worry too much - you have as good a chance as anyone I've seen on CC and Georgetown isn't exactly an awful fall-back school lol.

Asian Dictator,
The top summer programs would be TASP or RSI or a prestigious internship that relates to a sustained hook (like interning at a hospital for someone who has a long history w/ wanting to study medicine)

Unique ECs are just that: Any activity that can be taken to a fairly high level, or expanded upon in an unique way - basically, an uncommon skill that is fully developed. It can be anything from model collection to chess.

Therefore very few people have chances better than 12-13%.

What do you mean, very few people have chances better than 12-13%?

Just exactly what it means. Most people have a 12-13% chance of acceptance, except for some people, who might have a slightly higher chance.
