Essays + Recs will hopefully be good..

EC's : Swim team captain, will be a 3rd year varsity swimmer at the end of my senior year (was JV my freshman year), have been swimming year round since 7th grade.

I will also be doing 1-2 summer camps at U of M...would it be worth trying to get a letter of rec from an instructor there? Its only for a week though so yeah, any advice there?

My other question is that, in my grade, a lot of people will be applying to U of M from my school. Theres atleast 6 with a 35-36, and many more from 32-35. Since they will all be applying there, it doesnt seem I will be accepted..(they may not go there but theyll atleast apply, in state tuition..)

Do I have any chance? Anyone get in this year with similar stats :/?

Any help is appreciated.

Your stats should get you in no problem. GPA is the most important factor, and pulling a 3.97 with that rigorous course load is extremely impressive. Don’t worry about your ACT score, the middle 50% of admits at UM have 28-32, so you’re right in the middle of the pack there.

chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1338240-chance-me-uofm-purdue-cmu-georgia-tech-uiuc.html

I wouldn’t be so sure ashiej7. While he might be good for the university in general, CoE has higher standards.

Thankfully for you, UofM cares a lot about UW GPA, which seems to be one of your strengths. I think you’ve got a decent shot at getting in, but you should definitely have a backup plan in the case things don’t work out.
