Great chance. Show lots of interest, visit of you can, fill out informational forms, etc. Consider the ACT and then you don't have to send your SAT's. My son did that - did much better on the ACT. He had lots of ECs. like you - captain of three sports teams. He had lots of community service too. They like that. And his essays really portrayed him as a unique person. They look at the whole picture, not just scores. He has the same # of AP's - really almost all offered at his school. He just got in ED II.His GPA was more like a 3.75 UW but you are in the range. Hope this helps. l

hey , thanks so much!! it really is a help...but im considering emory RD...any chance with that? and with the whole ACT thing, does emory want the SAT more if I live on the east coast?? or do they weigh both the ACT and SAT the sam?

Not sure about ACT vs SAT. They will consider your gpa and rank together. Some high schools grade harder than others. Emory has a stated policy of not using SAT II scores unless they help the applicant. As donleyc mentioned, be sure to show a lot of interest. This is very important at Emory. Visit if you can, order the dvd, and be sure to mention specifics in the "Why Emory" essay.

We are from PA. Emory weighs the ACT and SAT the same. You have a good chance RD - just keep in mind there will be many more applicants in the regular pool. My son applied ED because he knew for certain it was his first choice.

You are quite correct donelyc. Emory's class is filled with approx 40% ED students. It makes sense that the RD pool is more competitive.
Visiting is extremely important and demonstrates interest. If one is serious about Emory, visit and go through the process.
