After reading the ED thread and seeing how competitive it will be this year, I am wondering if I will have even an ok shot. I know you all love these threads so here it goes.

Tests: 2250-math 800, reading 690, writing 760

800 math ii, 800 physics, some other bad SAT IIs

34 act

GPA Stuff: 3.86 gpa, or about a 92 unweighted. Top 10% of my school, which I feel has a very competitive class this year.

7 APs taken by end of senior year, 3 languages, very difficult courseload.

ECs:
-working at kohl's
-captain of the robotics team
-art club
-tutoring
-volunteering at a soup kitchen in the bronx
-Saferides officer
-Columbia Science Honors Program

Other: did a summer program in robotics at UPenn and won first place in the final competition.

Essays: Good (I think)

Recs: one amazing from a physics teacher, another pretty good one from a language teacher. Counselor should be pretty good.

So how's the outlook for me?

sat is a little weak for crit section, writing is seen as a sat 2 writing score

I am aware that I am illiterate, I scored 63 on the psat reading and 80 on the math there too. is 1490 not competitive?

stats is not the only thing they will look at and ur gpa and sat2s should balance it out gl =D!

To what major are you applying? If its something math related and you have shown throughout high school you love math / sciences i think you can somehow outweigh the CR score. Mine is not much higher but its 1490 also. My writing is low though.

I'm applying to electrical/computer engineering, most likely.
