Okay, despite the fact I have long since sent all my stuff to Emory and everything is out of my control, I would kind of like you guys' take on my chances.

SAT: 1350/1600, 2020/2400
GPA UW: 3.8
GPA W: 4.25

EC: mentoring at-risk kids, marching band, editor of the literary magazine, Academic Team, NHS
Good recs, okay essays

I think you have an excellent chance of gettig in. A big plus is that your hispanic, one of the few under represented minorities at colleges. You EC's an SAT score are competitive. good luck.

i think you have a good shot, i won't say 85%, but there is a good chance. Being a hispanic definitely helps a lot. But as you've probably noticed, this other hispanic (i think) was deferred from Tufts with a much higher stats than yours. So you know, you'll never know for sure. What is your class rank?

ah, I knew I was forgetting something.
It's approx. 20/350. Not really sure one either of those numbers, but that's a good estimation. I'm definitely in the top 10 percent.

okay. we'll although there are a lot of people applying from florida, i still think you've a good shot. Like usually colleges pick more whites and asians in ED and so they accepted more minorities to satisfy the "diversity."

Your scores seem pretty good.
I think it would depend on the time you spend on ur essays.
I heard the Why Emory? essay is pretty important.
Also if you show passion for something...have a hook.
Your ecs seem kinda weak though.

Your stats are pretty close to what mine were. I applied RD and was accepted (not deferred or anything), so as long as you did well on your essays and your recs are good, I think you have a pretty good chance. Good luck! :)
