Chances - Sarah Lawrence and Smith

Freshmen at Cornish College of the Arts. Cornish is a small liberal arts college specifically tailored for the arts, structured similar to a conservatory. I am currently studying in the theater department.

3.0 - 3.2 H.S. GPA ( I don't remember exactly)
3.75 current GPA
ACT: 22 (SLC does not consider ACT)
English AP: 4
Study Arts AP: 3

Cornish does not have academics, the few required humanities and sciences are pass/fail - so students don't really take them seriously. There is no student housing provided, no campus, or extracurriculars. Theater students are placed into "sections" of 15 people with whom they take all classes with. I am transferring to be a part of a student community, and to take part in a more liberal arts education.

High School EC'S: Chicago swing dance society, fine arts, improv comedy team, community choir, president of theater club. College doesn't really provide extracurriculars, but I still swing dance on the weekends and study improv outside of the class room.

I think I am a strong applicant. Although my H.S. GPA wasn't the strongest, I am a strong writer and would be an asset to their theater department. Obviously, I'm still worried sick about not getting in...

Chance me please?

Anyone? Anything?

i remember you from before. it is hard to really gauge your chances, because you are coming from a conservatory. all you can do is write good essays and hope for the best.

Yeah, sorry. I don't mean to "clog up" the boards, I was just hoping for some help. I did my best so, your right...all I can do is hope and wait. Thanks.

good luck, let us know how it goes!

Got rejected from Smith. Won't hear back from SLC until May...
