Chances (SFS)

Well, I know my scores and rank are low for GTown, especially SFS...
I am applying Early Action...
All I want to know are my chances (I like %) and whether there is hope.

I got accepted to UTAustin as my only other choice...

Should I wait until April 1 to see if I get accepted, or should I just make my deposit to UTAustin on Dec. 15 if I end up getting deferred? Georgetown is my dream school...

I am probably going to wait until April anyway... I just want to know what other folks would do...

Is there hope?

My interview went well.
My essays are ok. (SFS--> Electoral Fraud in Latin America)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Goodness Gracious, just lay it on me folks…

Gulp…your scores are low vs other applicants. You’re Hispanic, and that should help. Good ECs and Leadership. Great US History SAT…what happened w/ AP test? Too bad didn’t get a 5! Suggestion: love your safety. Who knows about G’town, since it’s getting hard to get there. If you don’t like UT, find other schools you do like. Do you want to have choices? Reach: G’town, Safety: UT, where’s your matches?

Ok I’m no expert but…
Your GPA is a little low (weighted), especially coming from a school that doesn’t send many kids to top schools… but your courseload is decent. Your SAT is definitely on the low side. Your USH SAT II is solid, the Spanish is okay, but that Math II is a killer. Your AP scores aren’t outstanding. Your ECs aren’t too great (you don’t really have an activity that you did throughout all high school!). Your honors/awards aren’t overwhelming. And to top it all off, you’re applying to SFS, which is super hard to get into.

BUT, you might have a slight chance as a URM. So unless you had a stellar, and I mean STELLAR, application essay, then I’d say your chances are gonna be on the lower side (<25%). But don’t give up hope. There are always unexpected acceptances. Keep up hope until April even if you are deferred EA. Good luck!
