Why not retake SAT? 670 isn't too hot.

yea i know but i have a buttload of chem and gov homework every week so i dont know how well i'd do if i dont study as much as i possibly can

wouldnt grades/gpa be more important than SAT scores?

The 670 isn't amazing, but alone it won't ruin your application, so if you really can't study for it, don't stress about it.

More extra curriculars would be nice though. You've obviously dedicated a lot of time to violin and piano, which is great, but do you have any other significant extra curriculars? How intensive is the volunteer work you do at the hospital and library? You definitely want to be able to highlight something in the application besides test scores, GPA, and classes. Remember, MIT is looking for passion and the "match", not just marks.

would an exceptional essay be able to push me in?

Your chances look as good as anyone elses (9%...).
