Hello everyone, I will make this very brief..

I am an international student living in New Jersey (my international status is biting my azz hard for all the schools)

College of Engineering

GPA: 3.95 UW 4.3+ W
SAT: M: 800, CR: 580, W: 700 (2080...)
SAT II's: Physics: 760, Math IIC: 710, Bio: 800
AP Scores.. 5's on History and Biology

Major major EC's:

1st Singles, Captain of Tennis team with strong regional rankings..
Varsity Quiz bowl (Top 4)
Vice President of NHS
School Representative of Student Advisory Board
Many many other clubs.. Ecology, WSSP, etc...

I tutor a LOT.. every subject and I spend a lot of time every week in school or on the phone tutoring.

AWARDS:

-Distinction of United States Physics Talent
-2nd Place Regional Rankings, NJRSF, Category physics 2006
-"" "" "" "" "" 2007
-Montclair State University G&T Program
-Partners in Science Research program (~500+ hours)
-other school individual awards for outstanding academic achievement which i wont bother to mention on the app.

RESEARCH:

I am very heavy on research..

I have independently completed two projects, both won regional awards. They have big potential to make me money, big money, so i'm acquiring funding for them for the last phase (so if any of you are interesetd, lemme know :P).. Will be entering Monmouth Symposium and other competitions with this research.

I have conducted Faculty level research at Rutgers Unviersity Department of Physics and Astronomy (I was the only one working with Grad studens, post docs and Professors) under the supervision of the chair of applied physics. (500+ hours)

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Amazing..
- Physics teacher named me the most talented and self motivated student he has ever had in his 35 years of high school and community college teaching.
- A strong rec. from the chair of applied physics at rutgers, very good

ESSAYS:

1 is Stellar (the one i originally wrote for University of Chicago) and the others are amazing as well.. many people have read them anad they all love it

WORK:
- Tennis Instructor, private tennis lessons to anyone for free.. ~6 hours/week.
- Library
- Uncle's Store
- I take care and supervise the local clubhouse, everyhitng in it and what goes on and things like that

Last note: I am not as hard-working as I would like myself to be.. eventhough I am always busy with my time, I just think I could have put more effort in studying and got a higher SAT score, graduate as the val. or what not... I mean, I have the potential and everyone in my high school knows me as "that" guy; the guy who can do it all, academically and athletically, deserves to be the val. and have a perfect SAT score.. I personally dont like people expecting that from me, and I know I couldve done those things, which I regret.. and my international status is relaly working agaisnt me, for I got rejected from U Chicago becuase of my intenational status and I was in need of aid and I hope something works out for me bec/ i dont have a college yet...

I really appreciate your time and again, thank you very much!

my son has three friends all admitted oos to Michigan recently with stats that were not as strong as yours. you look strong to me

you look like a very strong candidate; one note, however, is that most teacher recs make the student look amazing. From my own experience, I know that a teacher at our school uses one generic rec which he gives to about 30 students that each name them "one of the top students I've ever had in my 27 years of teaching, including those I taught at UC. _'s character is above reproach"...etc. etc. So just be prepared for that. Apply ASAP and good luck!

^what a joke. he's really screwing kids over, unless none of those 30 kids apply to the same schools.

I totally understand what you mean vc08

my rec. from the rutgers chair of applied physics should help....

hey vc.. i am PM'ing u my essay.. te one about the book, please read it :(

thank you very much

zdub: most of them arent, UCs dont accept letters of rec, they are applying to various state schools. but i know what you mean
