I beg to differ. I think he has a fair chance at Cornell if he can get his grades up and maintain them. He (or she, apologies if I am wrong). You’re already taking 2 AP’s as a freshman, that’s good. If you can get 4-5 on both of them, that would already look good. You may want to join mock trial next year (Far too late to join at this point in the year) and look into debate. I can’t offer much information on debate, sorry.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess a 28 on the ACT is equivalent to roughly a 1800-1900 on your SAT. That’s impressive for a freshman, I’m sure you’ll be able to get your score up to a 32+ later. You should also take your SAT’s and SAT II’s sometime later, most likely Sophomore-Junior year.

Get an internship during sophomore and junior summers. Your counselour should have more information.

Taking more AP’s is suggested. I think 12 total would be a good number, if you can get 4-5’s on the tests.

You’re a freshman so yeah. That’s the advice I can offer for now.

Thanks so much for your input (I’m a ‘he’ by the way). There are no mock trials at my school so would something like JSA be a good substitute for it?

@ans

how so?

Good Luck!
