You have great, solid stats certainly competitive for HPME (probably near the median for admitted students). Unfortunately, that would be my comment about your competitiveness for Harvard - no one can predict outcomes at this level. Good luck.

yea...it was too late for me to take the sat2s or chem and math2 but i sent them my resume and they still approved me for a HPME application so im not sure about that

definitely need SAT II chem for HPME. how would you say you've demonstrated a strong interest in medicine?

For HPME, the interview centers around you proving that you are dead set on pursuing a career in medicine. scores are merely a qualification to apply, it's the interest in medicine that is really important.

Well,
--I have researched a treatment for cancer for the last three years. During sophomore year, I worked at UT Southwestern (one of the best medical schools in the nation), but they did not have enough lab space for me to continue there so i found a professor at UT Dallas that was willing to help me continue the project.
--I have been very active in the health occupatons club known as HOSA and am now an officer of it. It is a national student-led organization which holds annual competitions with various events and in my event (HOSA Bowl - which is a quiz bowl like competition about medical terminology, history, parliamentary procedure, and HOSA), my team made state in sophomore and junior years and nationals in sophomore year. Hopefully, we will be able to do well again this year.
--I volunteered for almost 200 hours at 2 different hospitals and a clinic. I worked in the Emergency Room and the Respiratory floor.
--I took a class in junior year called Clinical Rotations where we were allowed to get a first hand look at the medical field. We shadowed nurses in different sites. I got to see the ICU, the OR (where i was given the oppurtunity to observe numerous surgeries), and the Orthopedic Floor. We also worked at nursing homes to get hours to earn our CNA (certification for nursing assistants) which i recieved.

Hopefully, that is enough to make up the lack of the chem and math2 SAT2s
