Chances? (Sorry for posting twice)

Sorry, I posted this under the Brown forum when it should be here. I'm new- this site is awesome!

My chances to Brown, Emory, WashU or Vanderbilt. I'm really looking towards Brown, which is financially the only standout when weighed against UF (they would pay me to go, I would go honors, etc.)

White Female from South Florida, 11th grade.

My HS is the biggest HS in FL, public, with great scores and great academics. We are on an 8 semester block schedule that limits class selections- each AP is one of four blocks. Also, most kids stay within the state system due to our state scholarship programs.

No sports, spent summer of 2005 at a non profit sleep away summer camp as a volunteer counselor. 600+ hours. Fluent in English, Spanish, and French.

Nothing really special about me, aunt and uncle legacy to Emory although I doubt that would help.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out- your input is GREATLY appreciated.

Anyone have any chances? Thanks!

Ok, Let's filter your stuff:

Jr Year Classes: Good
Sr. Year Classes: Great
ACT's: 33-Very Good
SAT's: good but try retake

Class Rank: Good, top 5%
UW GPA: 3.72-ok

E.C's
Many clubs, good leadership
Volunteer counselor. 600+ hours.-Excellent!
Fluent in English, Spanish, and French.-NICE

OK:
Brown-High Match/Low Reach
Emory-High Match
WashU-Low Reach
Vanderbilt-Match (unless im stupid)

Thank you so much for your input! I'm really freaking out abt this whole process and you've def. soothed me a bit!

Average chance at Brown. I wouldn't put all your stake into it though. Lots of competitive people applying from world wide.

What about my chances at Emory? I know Brown is going to be a stretch for me. . .

You sound pretty cool. Brown's so hip right now, it's a crapshoot for everyone, so don't bank on it, but don't sweat over it either. I think you have a nice, reasonable list going.

Thank you so much, that means a lot. I know. . . its such a gamble. I'm trying not to stress too much but it is just a stressful situation, and when I look at people stats who are deferred, rejected, etc. I get nervous.

Does anyone else have any advice?

WUSTL is a reach for anyone. You have good stats though. How do you know you'd go to UF for free and honors if you haven't applied?

Well in FL we have Bright Futures scholarships. . . which is basically anyone with a 3.0 and a 1270 gets full ride to any state school. I also have FL prepaid which will be transferred to pay for room and board, books, even food, etc. I'm assuming I will get in (which is stupid but whatever) and I make the honors college requirements, which you don't apply for, you are just considered for from your scores (4.0 core and 1400 SATS/33 ACTS). I know that WashU will be super hard for me to get into, but I am going to try! Thanks for your input

Solid chance at Brown

Just wondering if anyone else has any insight? Thanks guys, I won't bump this up again.

i'd say all four are matches for you... your Emory legacy wun help as much as it would in top (money-loving) schools like harvard, but it'd still help. you're definitely strong in academics and very strong in social work, great! but your total lack of sports may hurt just a little - just a little because you really show great dedication to what you do.

Thanks so much!
