Chances/Subject Test?

I am planning on majoring in Econ, maybe in conjunction with math. Brown is my dream school and I would really love to get in, here are my stats:

1530 composite SAT, 1550 superscore
800 math 2
690 bio

GPA (4.0 scale)
Weighted 4.46, Unweighted 4.0
Class Rank: 4 out of 706

Awards and EC’s: Nothing too amazing, but I got national merit semifinalist, an international finalist business plan award, and a 1st place state award for HOSA biomed debate as well as top 5 for FBLA. Allstate band all throughout high school.
As for my EC’s I created a club that plays music for senior homes, interned at Cisco, VP of debate, Treasurer of a huge Non Profit, etc.

I plan on applying ED. Do I have good chances? My dilemma is that Brown “recommends” 2 subject tests, which I know basically means “requires.” How much will that 690 hurt me, if I got an A in AP Bio and a 4 on the exam (I figured an 800 in SAT 1 and 2 maths, 5’s on AB/BC, and taking DE linear algebra at Georgia Tech right now could potentially cover up my 690, especially if I wanted to do econ and eventually finance)? Should I go ahead and submit Math 2 only? Is this a better choice than submitting both scores or will it raise a red flag seeing how I only took 1 subject test when I could have taken 2?

In addition, if I don’t get in early, should I send my Bio score to all other colleges along with math, or just math?

Appreciate anything guys!

I had a similar dilemma when applying to colleges. I had an 800 on Math 2 and then a 670 on Literature. What I did was I sent both to all schools that required two or basically said two were required (Brown, Princeton, Duke, Dartmouth, etc).

You should send the 690 to Brown and all other schools that require or recommend sending 2. It is not an awful score. It won’t help you at any college but it won’t make you a reject, especially if you intend to study Economics and talk about econ in your essays and/or interview.

I didn’t send both my subject test scores to Harvard, Yale, or Columbia and I got waitlisted at all three. I do not think sending one really mattered at these schools.

This might be the most reassuring thing I’ve ever heard. Every person I told my situation to told me to retake for a 700+, or even a 750+. I just don’t envision myself getting a better score than a 690 in Bio and my time would be more wisely spent on essays, right?

Where did you end up going?

I’m a '21 at Dartmouth. I got a transfer offer from Cornell, waitlisted from the 3 Ivies I listed above and then rejected from the other 3 Ivies. Also got into Hopkins and Northwestern by only sending 1 subject test.

I’m unhooked, but I think I got in because my ECs on my Common App were pretty different. Feel free to look at my chance me threads to see my whole profile

Whoa that’s awesome! Dartmouth is actually one of my top choices as well.

Where can I find this? I do not see it on your profile
