<p>At Georgetown? Keep in mind, your strongest attribute in terms of tests (Writing - 750) is not taken into account in Georgetown admissions (Dean Deacon has stated that GU Admissions believes the writing section is too condensed and isn't properly reflective of a student's true skill). </p>
<p>You may also want to consider consolidating your extracurriculars. A laundry list is hardly necessary. You also haven't indicated what school you're planning to apply to within Georgetown. Nor have you indicated if you will be applying EA or RD.</p>
<p>You definitely would need to get your SAT up. Georgetown doesn't even count the Writing section of the SAT.</p>

<p>i do appreciate your comment tlaktan, but i think it's unfair for you to call my EC's a laundry list when i never had any intention of doing them just for college. in fact, i have not even thought about college admissions until my junior year. i take all my EC's seriously and spend much of my time on them to do the best i can. so i would appreciate it that you don't talk so condenscendingly of them.
otherwise, i'm applying to gt RD and for international studies.</p>

<p>hey thats so awesome that you got into New Jersey Scholars! I went last year, when we were studying the middle east. I hope you have fuun studying africa, it all looks pretty coool. You're going to have an amazing time. Anyway, i got into sfs this year early action, and i really think NJSP helped alot. You have amazing extra-curriculars, and your stats look really good. By the way, soooooooooo many people get into ivies that attend NJSP... just from talkig to my friends from the program, its really quite ridiculous. Were talking multiple people to harard yale princeton, few to brown, 2 to georgetown, 1 to stanford, and a few to columbia. You will be set, and im sure youll get into a great school. I would say apply to every school that is on your list. Some are more plausible than others, but really just be genuine about each school. And actually put the time into each application, and follow up, because they can see right through a student who doesn't care, especially now since most colleges have the common app online.</p>
<p>thanx so much for your advice! i know!! i agree lol, just looking at the list of njsp alumni i get blown away. and i'm like yeap, probably i'm going to be the one going to rutgers (which is actually a good school but nevertheless, down there compared to the schools majority of njsp'ers go to!!). i know larry and tu-ho =) and yeap yeap, i'm really really excited about going to njsp! that's great that you got into SFS!! congratz!! =) hope i'll get the chance to join you there lol</p>
<p>I wasn't criticizing your extracurriculars by calling them a "laundry list" -- however, I do give you fair warning that Georgetown only has six slots for your main extracurricular activities; anything else is supplemental and goes on a resume.</p>
<p>I used the term (perhaps unfairly) to signify a lengthy list of activities, not to discredit their value by saying so.</p>
<p>Just to give you a heads up, the term "International Studies" is incredibly broad in terms of even the SFS -- we have 7</a> majors, and although you don't really select one until your sophomore year, it's good to have an idea of where you're going.</p>

<p>If you can express a genuine interest in attending the School of Foreign Service, but I do have to root for Georgetown.</p>
<p>Although Interviews are offered outside of the United States, they are not mandatory if a prospective student cannot easily be connected with a member of Alumni Admissions. <p>But I'm deducing that you're from New Jersey, so why the question on International Interviews?</p>
<p>As far as grades go -- most, if not all, Georgetown students come from strong academic backgrounds, and Georgetown does seem to place emphasis on GPA/SAT. But again, it's what YOU offer to the Class of 2011 (... man, I feel old) that will be the ultimate factor in determining your admissions into GU-SFS.</p>

<p>I do have to point something out about the interviews. Although I can't be sure, almost all interviewers give sparkling reviews for the candidates they interview -- statistically, it's not the most heavily weighed of factors in admissions decisions.</p>

<p>The people they are interviewing, of course. Georgetown doesn't have a competitive applicant pool without good cause. :)</p>
