Chances, the usual (Ivy League, UChicago, Rice, suggest matches?)

Anybody else? Pleeease?

HYP are unlikely. Rice looks good, Chicago looks good. You would be likely at Wellesley or Smith.

Well that's good. I don't really want to go to HYP, anyway. That was just for the heck of it. :)

Chicago doesn't weight standardized tests as much as the other listed schools do, but is more or less just as difficult to get into. You should instead write essays that prove to the admissions committee that you belong there. Also, unfortunately, each year, our admission rates keep going down and especially with our recent switch to the Common Application, next year's acceptance rate could very well decrease to 20%. Therefore, I think you should try for better test scores, seeing as how each year, the admissions committee has no choice but to become more numbers-oriented. Also, I've seen a handful of 2400s rejected, so I don't think that you should take the other posts here saying that Chicago's only a slight reach too seriously. It's going to take a lot of effort.

If you want to become a college professor, then Chicago might be a good start. We produce a lot more PhDs than the Ivies because we're more of a home to pure academia.

Which is why I'm IN LOVE WITH CHICAGO. :)
I was so sad when they switched to Common App! The Uncommon Application was the thing that first caught my eye on the UChicago website. I'm relieved that the essays are the same. Those should be fun once I, you know, think of an idea.

Are you a current student?

Do you know how/if they differentiate between SAT and ACT? Because I'm confident I can get my ACT to a 35. SAT is a little more of a struggle for me.
