<p>Yes, UF and UM are comparable schools due to the fact that neither of the schools is that much better to the point where the increase in selectivity or U.S. News rank would benefit him/her when applying to grad school or for a job.</p>
<p>Do not go by the rankings between these two schools. The difference of 7 spots is so small and the rankings differences in medical schools so minute that if you graduate with an identical gpa from both schools you will have the same opportunities.</p>
<p>UM is not better than UF to the point where it will open more doors, create much stronger connections or put you at a distinct advantage over UF when it comes time to grad school.</p>
<p>The same goes for UF over UM.</p>
<p>Go where you think you will be happiest and therefore will have the highest chances to succeed.</p>
