I will also be doing a physics lab/research at a college in Taiwan this summer for 2 months. Hopefully that can be a good hook.

I am also a pretty good track athlete looking to jump at D1.
If anyone wants to know, my distances are 44'7 for the triple jump and 20'11 for long jump. Hopefully I can jump 46 feet by the end of this season. I think that'll make me a pretty marketable jumper for Big Ten or Ivy schools.

Schools interested in:
High interest: UMichigan, USC, UCLA, UPenn, Columbia
Med: Brown, UIUC, McGill, Rice
Low: BC, Berkeley, UCSD, UWisconsin Madision

Do you guys think too many of these schools are reaches? Maybe I need more safeties?

Also, would it help a lot if I visit colleges in June? I just had a meeting with my college adviser and he was pretty adamant that I HAVE to go visit some colleges this summer.

Thanks so much everyone!!!

Penn, Columbia, Cal look like reaches. Besides that, I think you have a good shot at the rest.

You need to raise your SATs to at least a 2100+ to get into some of the schools you listed...Penn, Brown, Berkely, Columbia, and probably even UMich. These are reaches for you as of now, but I think that if you got a better score this time, then you have a strong chance. Good luck!
