I was told no chance at NYU and syr, got into both.

Adelais - most colleges like Muhlenberg practice a waitlist system for people they do not think will actually matriculate (stats way above norm). If you really wanted to go there, a call to the admissions office would have gotten you off of the list.

Didn't get into Brown, which is, for the most part, as people predicted.

Right on the money for Brandon so far . . .

Vandy - match - accepted
Carnegie Mellon - match - accepted
Univ of FL - safety - accepted and invited to Honors Program
Duke - slight reach - waitlisted
Harvard & Stanford - reaches - rejected from both

Now only waiting on Notre Dame - #1 choice by far
Most people have said it's a match for him, but as someone said on another thread, this has been a "walk on water" year for college acceptances!

my chances were pretty much spot on...got rejected by all of my "reaches" except for psu's med program...and got into alla my matches/safeties.

i

Well, I didn't do chances here, but elsewhere...

Probably the only thing that a lot of people got wrong was that several people thought I was a shoo-in at Princeton because of my double legacy...luckily I knew better to believe that (rejected :().

I didn't get into any of my reach schools, and pretty much everyone thought that I would get into at least 1/4, so that was a sad surprise.

I got into every other school, though, and that's what everyone thought would happen.

karthiksmart,
You got into Brown? what is your SAT scoreand your SAT II score?

I am the waitlist king! Waitlisted at Georgetown (told a definite reach), Oberlin (match), Macalester (match), Emory (slight reach), Colby (match). I got into University of Southern California architecture (match), but got rejected into UC Berkeley (reach), UCLA (reach), UCSD (match). Overall, I am not pleased with all these waitlists! Atleast I got into USC though...

i think i got really lucky... got in at most of my reaches.. only rejection from harvard =0, this whole process really played in my favor =)

I was told that because I had no "focus"/"passion" in my ECs, I would probably not get into HYP.
I will be attending Princeton in the fall.

People told me that I had "average" chances at HYPS (which I guess is true) but I got into Yale and Stanford. :)

I was told Johns Hopkins was pretty safe, and I got rejected. But then I was told Penn and Duke were super reaches, and I got in!

Hehe~ My admissions were REALLY weird~

I got accepted to all of my UC's (Irvine, San Diego, Berkeley, and Los Angeles) (there was a good chance~)

I also got accepted to USC (good bet~)

I got REJECTED to Princeton and Stanford (They were reaches~ >.<)

I got WAITLISTED to Yale (reach) and Cornell!! (good bet) (which, btw, was my #1 choice~ T.T)

And the biggest surprise of all, after getting all of my rejections and wait-lists was to find out that I had been accepted to Harvard!!! O.O!!! It was really really out of there~ I only applied because my friends wanted to see if I could get in or not~ and I really really doubted that I would and everyone said that it's a really slight possibility~ but wow!

One thing I'd like to say: College Admissions are REALLY unpredictable! Don't give up on any of your dreams~ ^.^ Just apply! really~ It's not wrong to apply, but it might be a problem if you give up early and never know whether or not you could have made it... ^.^ Don't Give up! Good luck to everyone!! And Congrats to those who got accepted to their schools! yay!

I was told that I was a "guarantee" for duke, but got rejected. then again, I didn't ever visit or show any interest in duke even though I live 4 hours away
