I joined the Film Club, and am currently applying to National Honor Society, and maybe National Technical Honor Society (if its worth the twenty bucks lol)
and maybe try volleyball @ school, and join some math and science clubs, since i know the teachers well.

and for next year i chose this schedule, which im not 100% sure on and have an appointment with counselor to talk about.

AP Calc AB
Forensic Science Honors* (couldnt decide between this and an AP science, which i know would be a killer, plus no AP physics @ my school)
English IV Honors
AP Music Theory
AP Govt/ Economics
Financial Accounting
Interior Design III- slack
PE/Driver's Ed- mostly for insurance discount and slack,

any recommendations on what i can do to try and aim for higher colleges, i know what i got sucks especially the ec, but w/e
i was considering switching PE to AP Stat next year to try and make up for not taking an Ap Science

i signed up for sat in april, and also am taking the online course, and will buy the official sat study gude, cuz i know i gotta up that score.

any recommendations and around what tier of schools can i get into with my current stats.

i was thinking big like "mit" or "syracuse" but after reading some of these posts, i have to think more realistically

thnx

Syracuse is not considered particularly competitive, and you should be fine there. MIT, the Ivies, and other Ivy-equivalents are way out of reach with low standardized test scores and no EC's. Colleges within reach could be Boston U, Maryland, Brandeis (slightly harder), Syracuse, and U Miami (FL). If you look at the US news rankings online, something in the area of 50 for national or LAC should be good for you as a match.

^thnx for the response,

how bout something like cornell or so, i check the median sat scores and im in that ballpark

also, what can i do to increase my chances to go higher,

whats a good sat score, around 1400 for math and reading to hit the ivies?

higher with no ecs and pretty good grades, probably 1500+

^i just took a practice sat online and got

Cr: 610 Math: 700 Writing: 550

not a terrible start :) but probably out of the reach of ivies, keep working though... keep up your GPA, prep for the SATs and try to get a leadership posistion in one of your clubs.

If you really are a wrestling champ, then you may be recruited at the two Ivies that are aggressive about their wrestling teams- Penn and Cornell.

i think i'm kind of around wehre you are...my EC's suck hah. and there's a BIG gap between MIT and syracuse..i think. im thinking cornell too.. good luck =)
