What're my chances in getting into a UC school?

I'm a Chinese American student attending a "9" high school in Southern California. I only have a 3.67 GPA as a junior and am definitely eligible for applying into a "UC" school. My SAT scores are 560(Crit Reading) 650(Math) and 460(Writing) (total- 1670). Yes, I know my writing score sucks :(. Summary:

HS Cumulative GPA - (3.33)
Junior Year GPA - (3.67)
SAT Scores - 560,650,460 (1670)
2 years Cross-Country Team, 1 year in Track Team
General Member of Math Club
General Member of Computer Engineering Club
Worked as a tutor at a local learning clinic during summer of 2006.
2 Time LA Marathon Runner and Finisher
Resident of California.

I'm going to take the SAT 2s on Math IIC, Physics, and US History on June.

My resume isn't that good, and I'm thinking that I have no chance at any UC school, except maybe Merced. :( I'm feeling kind of down because of this.

ucla and cal are out out of the question sorry to say, even san diego
however, santa cruz does have a nice computer program there
or go for irvine if not. nothing wrong with those uc's at all

Well...UC Schools dont check your cumulative GPA so dont worry about that. IMO I would concentrate on increasing your SAT score by at least 300 points. Don't give up yet you still may have a strong chance at Irvine and maybe even UCSD. It would be better if you calculated your UC GPA first then think about your chances.

I think that you have a really good chance of being accepted into UC Santa Cruz. Just do well on your second semester grades. Are you taking any AP or Honors classes? I also think that you have a chance of getting into Irvine. We went on a college trip there and one of the students said that he had a 3.5. So, if he got in, I think you would have a pretty good chance of being accepted too. Just do a lot of community service.

I have a question... Does family history affect my chances? My parents were in a genocide ( :( ) back in the late 70s. And thus, they have no education.

The UCs determine admittance primarily by sophomore and junior GPA (including a capped weighting of honors/AP/IB courses but excluding PE and health courses), by SAT scores (including two SAT II subject tests), and by the ECs pursued.

You haven't told us how many honors courses you have taken, you didn't indicate your sophomore GPA -and you haven't estimated the SAT II scores.

So, keeping all that in mind--I'd say you are:

Best of success. (P.S. Post the other things above when you get the chance and people--including me--can estimate your "chances" better. Also, the fact that your parents have no education will improve your chances, but only slightly.)

You're kidding right? Yes, I agree she may have a shot at UCI but I would call UCSD a pretty big reach. I highly doubt she'll make the cut-off for UCSD with her stats.
