So I’ve made one of these before but given I took the SAT and whatnot, I’m going to update this:
NYU is definitely my first choice school and I really, really, really want to get in. However, I’m not sure if my scores are good enough (statistically I doubt it). Anyway, here are my stats (as of now):
Freshman GPA: 3.5/6+ (can’t remember exactly but it was unweighted)
Sophomore GPA: 3.83 (unweighted)
Since I’m currently a junior here are my classes and 1st semester GPA (it should be noted that my high school only sends the year average grades):
GPA: 3.86 (weighted) 3.5/6 (unweighted)
Classes:
Theology
AP Lang
HN Biology
CP Chemistry
CP Algebra 2
HN French 3
Web Design/Intro to Art (semester courses)
My current grades are A’s and B’s.
SAT Score: 1800 (retaking this tomorrow/March 14, 2015) Reading - 690, Math - 480, Writing - 630 w/ an 8 out of 12 essay
ACT Score: Taking in April
Although I’m going to apply ED I (hopefully), I’m including my classes for next year anyway:
Pre-Calc
AP Lit
AP Gov
HN Physics
HN Microbiology/DE (dual enrollment) Genetics (they’re each semester courses)
Theology
HN French 4
Fashion Marketing (over the summer)
EC’s:
Mock Trial
Singing Lessons
Gymnastics
(plan to add more over the summer)
Personal Stats:
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Mexican/Hispanic
As I stated in my other post, my classes got mixed due to moving from California to Virginia after my freshman year. I would’ve been taking certain honors classes had I stayed in my old high school rather than CP classes at my new one. Either way, I know my stats aren’t very good for NYU but I would still like to know how low my chance is. I did end up emailing the admissions office in the midst of what I like to think of as a slight panic attack after I received my SAT score (I did not tell them my score only that it was lower than what they usually received) and although he told me NYU relies on various factors and there is no minimum score, I am doubtful considering how far off my score is from the average.
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!
