Hey first post here.

I'm a junior and didn't take the SATs yet-hope to do well

I haven't gotten this yr's PSAT scores back yet but my sophomore yr was 1730.

My GPA is 3.45 unweighted, 4.37 weighted
(do colleges care more about the weighted?)

I have done lots of community service but didnt join any clubs..

Could you guys chance me to BU/NYU?

Thanks

You better score 2100+ to overcome your low GPA. Emphasize comm service in your essays to make up for not joining any clubs. BU is a low reach and NYU is a mid reach unless you can bring up your SAT to 2100+. In that case, BU would be a match and NYU would be a high match/low reach. Good luck!

Hey sorry for the late reply-

I am actually in a lot of clubs -frisbee, math team, science team, FBLA…

And my GPA rose since last time-3.53 UW/ 4.42 W- I retook my SAT (first time 1880) and probably did better.

Help on Application Essay please!

Your GPA and SAT are matches for bu (avg SAT is 1296). NYU is definitely a reach. Maybe look at other comparable schools in terms of admission scores like American, Fordham, Drexel if you are interested in larger private urban schools.
