Chances to Cornell, Georgetown, and some others

I did one of these like a week ago, but I only got 1 response.
I'm a white male from VA in the IB program at my school.
UW GPA- 3.92
W GPA- 4.67
rank- 5/455
Test scores (these are the only part of my rec that I'm REALLY worried about)
SAT- (2060) 700 CR 660 M 700 W
ACT- (30) 33 E 32 M 30 R 26 S
SAT II- 770 US History 790 Spanish

recs- really good, especially from my Spanish teacher
essays- in my opinion really good. they really show my interest in foreign language and trumpet playing

EC's-
Model UN (treasurer 11, co-president 12)
Math NHS (vice president 11-12)
Spanish Club (president elect 11, president 12)
Marching band (trumpet section leader 11-12)
Diplomacy Club (co-founder)
NHS
Varsity Quiz Bowl (letter)
Indoor/outdoor varsity track (9-10, had to stop because of time) (letter)
Relay for Life (volunteer)
SeaPerch- underwater robotics thing, volunteer

Summer-

Accepted into the Governor's Spanish Academy (had to decline admission)
Summer Russian Academy (advanced class) (i taught myself russian)

Awards/achievements-
President's education award (x3)
AP Scholar with Honor
some school award for excellence in math
I completed an in-depth research paper on the history of the Cyrillic alphabet

I'm applying EA to UVa (safety), ED to Cornell CAS (my 1st choice), Georgetown SFS, William and Mary, and Washingotn and Lee.

obviously my SAT/ACT scores are pretty low for Cornell, but I really want to major in China and Asia-Pacific Studies, which from my understanding is a fairly obscure major there.

The last time my school sent a kid to Cornell was probably 4-5 years ago. Most of the people in my IB class end up going to UVa, William and Mary, or Virginia Tech.

I haven't submitted my ACT score anywhere yet because my science score was really terrible. I probably will though because a 32 on math is a lot better than a 660.

Cornell - low match
Georgetown SFS - I think you have a fair shot at getting in. Your foreign language skills/interest is huge.
The rest you can definitely get into.
Please chance me back?

what does low match mean?

Got similar school interests as you. You’re lucky you live in VA. Huge advantage at UVA for you. I’d say you’re in at UVA, W&M, and W&L. Georgetown is pretty dang competitive so no promises there. I’d say that’s a reach. With Cornell, I’d say that’s a high match.
Chance me back!

buuuuuuuummmmmmmmmppppppppp

UVA and W&M are not safeties (90% or more chance of admission) for you with those SATs (last year on this board a father was complaining, rightly so, about UVA rejecting his daughter who came from NOVA was sal of her class and had a 2300 plus SAT). They are more like low reaches (about 50/50 chance) depending on the rigors of your curriculum.

If you love Spanish and plan on majoring in it, this could really help you at UVA as Spanish is one of its very best undergrad programs in the College and they want more students in this program (my son attends UVA, but is a math major). Also, my impression is W&M is a bit more holistic in its process and less likely to knock you out solely over low SATs

Did you retake the SAT yesterday? If you did and bumped up your scores 100 points, this could all change very much for the better because of your outstanding class rank and solid ECs. But based on what you have listed, here are my guesses on the other schools:

Cornell ED = reach (10 - 33% chance), Georgetown = reach, Wash & Lee = low reach. I suggest you find a few safeties.

I would major in Russian and Government. I think I’m done with the SAT and probably the ACT. I may take biology E and math II in November, but I’m not sure.

First of all, your SATs are pretty low given that you’re applying to such rigorous schools. You will need to get above a 2200 to be in consideration. GPA and ECs are good. Apply to some safety schools too.

Cornell: Low reach (SATs are low)
UVA: Low match (SATs)
Washington And Lee: match
Georgetown: Reach
William and Mary: match

I would suggest you to take your SATs. You have an excellent GPA, but your ok test score would lower your chances for the more selective schools like Cornell and Gerogetown. To have a higher chance of getting into those schools I would suggest you to have at least a 2200 on the SATs/33 on ACTs. Good luck with everything!
Cornell: Reach
UVA: High match
Washington And Lee: match
Georgetown: Low reach
William and Mary: match

if I get a 750 on math II and 700-750 on Bio E do you think it would make up for the math sat score? My CR score is above average for Cornell, but my math score is below 25 percentile. The average ACT at Cornell is 31, my composite is a 30.25

cornell’s middle 50th percentile for the ACT is between 29-33
for an unhooked applicant like you, it is recommended that you are at or above the 75th percentile

My great-grandfather was Spanish so I think I’ll probably mark that on my application. Would that help my chances?
