Chances to Cornell

This actually isn't intended for me. Basically, Im tellign this girl in my class that she wont get into cornell. She's arrognat and annoying, so I and the majority of the students in class ended up ****ing her off, which I dont regret by any means. Tell me what are her chances.

Ethnecity: White
SAT: 1820
No AP's whatsoever.
GPA: 92/100
Strong extracurriculars:

Lacrosse captain, soccer captain, other awards attached to those two sports including All-American etc., Varsity H Club president, president of student council for 2 years (fresh and sopho and ousted from power by me on her junior and senior year), Girls State.

Two brothers are at Cornell and her dad works there. If I recall correctly, siblings dont count as legacies...

Basically, that's it. Respond please.

if shes rich(parents make 1$ million+) shes has a chance

otherwise- reject

If her dad is a full-time employee, I think she's in. Otherwise, probably not.

I would assume you go to Ithaca High School.
Weaker canidates from Ithaca puclic schools reguraly get in (although many more are rejected). If her dad is on the facilty (not staff), she has a weak shot of getting in but I wouldn'y say it's impossible

Rachmaninoff, stop being a prick. It doesn't matter if shes arrogant. You are being more of a jerk for telling her straight to her face that shewon't get accepted and then come online to ask other people if they think she will get in or not. You need a serious esteem boost

Doesnt matter if she's arrogant or not? Well, good for you if you like arrogant people. IF somebody that doesnt try in school suddenly act like she's intelligent and begins to talk about her to-be amazing future, that ususally annoys other people. I dont know, perhaps this resulted from my badly summarizing the event, but the majority of the class, not just me, started to criticize her. Also, I dont need any esteem boost, trust me.

To the other posters who actually replied, thank you. No, Im not ging to Ithaca High School, although I wish I did because I heard that was a good place. IT happened that her dad was just a volunteer at Cornell. No, she's not a millionaire. Anyways, if she has a shot with below 2000 SAT, than I guess that's a very good sign for me....

woahh, all american is a big deal

ya, seriously, all-american is a big deal..and i think girls state is a awesome 2.......i say she will get in....

I personally think her SAT score will get herself rejected. But connections can always really help so you never know. I definitely wouldn't count her out though.

I can't believe the original poster cared so much about what this girl said that she's trying to get us to prove her wrong on CC.

Who cares?

If you care, that means you're just lame. If she wants to go to Cornell and thinks she can, it's her right to say that and try.

I do not think she will receive admission to Cornell (The SAT is just not enough).

Her SAT scores are bottom quartile, her gpa is good but she has challenged herself in no way it seems.

In if she's a recruited athlete, or maybe if she needs zero financial aid. Else, I don't see anything redeeming. =(
