These are my choices.. Are any compatible..are there any you can suggest?
And remember I want a good biology program.

Baylor
UNC Chapel Hill
Duke
University of Chicago
UCSD
Does UT or A&M have a good science program? Which has a better program?

UT is far better than A&M. The best advice I can give is for you to try your best to get in the top 10% next fall. UCSD is pretty strict on that. As of now Duke is a reach, UNC/ Chicago are lesser reaches, and you are in at Baylor and the Texas schools.

Dude you are a URM (no offense) and your grades and scores are good, I think you have a good chance at all of those schools.

Does Filipino count as URM? If it does than that is the boost you need to get into all of these...I am not sure if they count Filipino as Latino though...

You do realize that Baylor University hasn't been affiliated with the Baylor College of Medicine for decades?

Any suggestions of good premed schools for me? Do I have a realistic chance of getting in to the above schools?

The better the reputation of the school overall, the better "pre-med." I would go to the best school you get into.

filipinos do not get URM status because they are considered asian/pacific islander(being associated with the overachieving chinese and vietnamese doesnt help)...esp in texas where the categories might as well be white and non-white...

Ya I knew that i wish I was hispanic lol. I'd probably be able to get into half of these schools.

filipinos don't get URM status? Ooops. Ahhh your chances have suddenly decreased

You need to be top 10% for many of these schools, state schools are very stat oriented so top 10% will significantly improve your chances at UNC/ UCSD since you are out of state. I would strongly consider Emory, perhaps even ED.

Thanks for your help. Hows Emory's research/premed program?

There is no such thing as a "pre-med" program. The better ranked the school overall, the more successful they seem to be at placing undergrads. I would never choose a place like UCSD over a place like Brown simply because of a higher ranked graduate biology department, its a dubious correlation at best. On the other hand, going to a place where you get to work with professors one-on-one and has a top reputation is ideal. Also, the more research opportunities, the better, since those summers those are huge boosters into med school.

Emory has an excellent overall reputation and because it is closely linked to the CDC, there are many top research opportunities. It might be perfect for you, it has a strong reputation, is within reach, and people from there do very well overall.

awesome! Any chance I can get into Darthmouth or Northwestern.
