Chances to Engineering, through Engineering review.

Hello,

I was admitted for general admission a while back, but I am under the engineering review. I wanted to know if I have a chance for getting my first choice major, Aerospace Engineering. My second choice was Mechanical. I am scared because of my rank, but I go to Westwood High School in Austin, TX (nationally ranked public school) and it’s so competitive!

GPA: 4.4/5.0
Rank: 244/617 (very competitive)
SAT: 2090 (1450 Composite)
SAT II: Math Level 2 (790)
Classes: All pre-AP and AP throughout high school and dual enrollment courses
EC’s/Awards:
-3 years football (Academic All-State, Academic All-District Linebacker)
-Westwood Academic Award 3 years
-UT Austin Aerospace Engineering internship (rec letter from professor)
-medals in regional science fair and state medals for science olympiad
-1000+ hours volunteering
-Co-Founder of Aerospace Club

You have a great chance. You have alot of extracurricular for your intended major which is a plus. My GPA is higher, your SAT is higher, overall I think you have a great chance.

@vs1997 Personally not a fan of UT, my heart is on TAMU, if I don’t get into engineering I have other OOS schools that I’ve been accepted to.
