I am Asian living in Asia and I'm thinking of transferring to SL. I've been in college for almost 4 years. I am 22 years old.

My College GPA is around 2.0
My HS GPA is around 3.0
I have tons of extracurriculars in theater, dance and film in HS and college. I've been part of a student-run library org in college.
I plan to start a blog.
I'm kind of a good writer (based from what teachers say)
I'm an international student. (Does that help? I've read that students complain about the lack of ethnic diversity.)

I think SL is the right match for me. I have varied interests. I am a beginner in the performing arts and while I want to venture on that, I also want to study other things like film history, philosophy, poetry, literature, psychology and sociology.

In terms of the performing arts in SL, I've read comments from both sides. Some say, it's really good while some say that the instruction is not as intensive as in a conservatory. I also read that it seems that the training you get from SL is more of a composition based as opposed to honing performance techniques. Well, since SL is near NYC then maybe I can complement that with some intensive training, right? Plus, I'm a beginner and the less pressure, the better.

Do you have any info on how steep the competition for financial aid is for International Students?

And lastly, conference work can be in the form of creative projects, right?
