Chances to get in?

Hi everyone! I am applying to Chapman this year as a senior and was wondering what you all thought about my chances! I plan to major in Broadcast Journalism at Dodge!!

I have interviewed with both my regional territory person and a fellows in the admissions office!(:

Hook: Erin Lastinger (Lastinger Athletic Complex donor) is a close family friend and told me to use her name on my application.

So, what do all you guys think? My parents can pay full tuition and won't receive any money from FAFSA.

Cosurf: All we can offer is hopeful speculation, of course, but I’d say your chances are good-bordering-on-marvelous. Sounds like you will have an excellent, focused and well-balanced application. You’ve demonstrated serious interest in the school. And in these times, the fact that you’re full pay can’t hurt.
Best of luck!

My son is a freshman in TBJ. Your SAT’s are about what his were. You have more EC’s than he had. He has been active in Television (local CCTV) since 6th grade, so that may have helped, besides film camps at UCLA,Chapman and some local ones. He got a great recommendation from one of the teachers at the Chapman camp as well as from teachers but I can’t think of any advantage over your application stuff.

He didn’t qualify for aid (didn’t even do FAFSA) but got a $15,000 scholarship anyway. His friend got a $25,000 but she had a 4.00 grade point average and his was a 3.92. Not sure what else their differences were. Not to get your hopes up, but you seem like a strong contender for admission as well as a little money.

I’d say that you have some great chances. Just from what I caught from admission advisors and current students is to really show your creativity in your essays.

Hi OP, you certainly look like a great fit on paper! My son is a freshman in TV/broadcast journalism. Excellent program, and he loves that even as a first-semester freshman, he’s already on camera with the mic in his hand. Is Chapman/Dodge your first choice?

Chapman is my 2nd choice! If I don’t get into my top choice through RD or appealing, then I’m heading to Chapman!

On a side note, my ACT went up to a 32! (not superscored)
