Hi guys,
This is my first post here. I am a junior in a very competitive high school. My first choice is to go to Cornell. I am a very sharp kid, but lazy kid. I did not "try" during my freshmen/ sophomore years at high school (Dont ask me why- because I dont know!!) I still have 1.5 years left and hope to improve my stats. Please letme know my chances of getting into Cornell and what can I do in order to improve the chances. Please give your honest opinions guys, I really need it.

Extracurricular Activities:

Over 200 volunteering hours by this summer.

If I missed anything in my list, please let me know. I know it is not a good "Ivy" list, but I am hoping to improve it.

Cornell- Low Reach
Penn- Mid-High Reach
- Nice 3 section SAT score but the CR is a little weak- might want to bring that over 700
Also try to find a way to differentiate yourself from the thousands of applicants who literally look just like you.

When do you think I should apply for ED?
I am a junior and second semester just started.
If I get denied in ED, does it mean that I wont be able to apply in my senior year for Cornell?

I don't think you understand how ED works. You apply early in your senior year (November) and you either get accepted, in which case you must withdraw all other applications and enroll at Cornell, get deferred to the regular decision pool and lose the binding contract to the school, get flat out rejected, or in Cornell's case, become a Garunteed transfer where you are garunteed to be accepted as a transfer student after a year at another school.
