I definitely think you can make it into most of the schools you listed! You have a very strong GPA and rank, rigorous classes, plus lots of ECs.

Solid academics. ECs show a clear focus on academics, this is neither a good nor a bad thing. Penn, Duke, and Stanford are low reaches (as they are a reach for just about every one). JHU and USC are both matches, you should get into those. I think if you really wanted to go to one of the low reaches, you should go ed. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1567485-chance-me-duke-ed.html

I applied restrictive early action to Stanford, just to give me best chances, but i think i should have done ED at Penn instead, since i think i have a chance at those

UPenn: Reach
Duke: Low Reach/High Match
Johns Hopkins: Match

Nice job with the decathlon!
I wouldn’t stand a chance in CA… Everyone is wayyy to smart there :)

Upenn- Reach
Duke- Low reach
Stanford- High reach
JHU- high match/match
USC-match

As you probably know, your gpa and scores are all in range for each of these schools, but there are so many other factors that affect the result of an application. Your ec’s also look good. Good luck!

i think you should be good

Stanford: High Reach
Duke: Reach
Penn: Low Reach
JHU: Low Reach

Wait, which is better, high or low
?

Upenn- low reach
Duke- Low reach
Stanford- High reach
JHU- high match/match
USC-match

You never know! great scores, but your application is a lot like others!

Low is better. High Match means Higher end of your Match range, and High Reach is bordering on impossible.

Stanford - High Reach
UPenn - Reach
Duke - Low Reach
JHU - High Match/Low Reach
USC - Match

Are schools like stanford high reaches for most people applying to it? Or are most actual candidates reaches

Oh, I just want to add that I do have an amazing recommendation from a stanford professor (now at UOP) that teaches what I want to major in. As in, he says I have been one of the best interns he has had in a while, including undergrads

HYPMS are at the very minimum, even for the most outstanding candidates, reaches. I don’t think it can me a low reach for anyone.
