Chances to get off waitlist- OOS

My school doesnt rank but I am third in my class
AP World(4), AP Euro(5), AP US(4), AP English Lang(5), AP Bio(5)
Taking AP Psych, AP Eng Lit, and AP Calc this year</p>

<p>Honors: National Merit Commended Student, National Honor Society, High Honors (95 average or better) half my semesters, 1st Honors(90 average or better no grades below 90) every other, Latin Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Columbia Book Award in Social Studies</p>

<p>EC's: Lacrosse for three years, Treasurer of SADD Society, Campus Ministry Co-Leader of Retreat Services for Freshman and Sophmores, Went to France for past two summers for a week to help sick and disabled, Caddy at my local Country Club for 3 years, Cross Country for three years, Founding Member of Philosophy Club at my School, Community service through Habitat for Humanity and soup kitchens since I was a freshman, tutor 8th grade in math, Ski Club</p>

<p>You probably have a good chance given your scores. I know they admit about 20% from the waitlist on average, but thats give or take 10%</p>

<p>I would think that you have a decent shot. Be sure to send your admissions officer an update if you do anything notable in the next few months or have done something notable since you applied. You also might want to consider sending them a letter of continued interest indicating that you would accept an offer of admission and why you would be a good fit for the university (if UNC is indeed your first choice). An additional letter of recommendation from someone that can provide new insight about you could also be helpful.</p>
