Chances to HYPS?

Hi everyone, I'm a high school junior, and I was wonderng about my chances to get into an ivy or stanford, as well as what I should be doing in terms of this next year.

Stats

4.0 uw GPA, 4.8w (assuming current grades into senior year)
10 ap's, 5 on calc bc so far
238 psat, nmsf (i guess?)

ec's
-7th CA state foreign extemp (speech), 31st state Student Congress, Optimist district finalist (reno, NV).
-Captain of Congress team - next year should become captain speech team

I think I have good essay material, and my counselors like me. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thank you.

i think you got as good a shot as anyone.

....why do you post?
you'll apply even if people on here say you dont have no shot whatsoever

dude you should have enough common sense to know that your scores are great, you have nice ec's, and a great transcript... quit wasting peoples time

now that thats over.
apply to ivys if its your thing.. you're bound to get in somewhere

The only way you won't get in is if you write a horrible essay.....
Other than that ur set.

Don't listen to abeautifulmistake.

turkeylips73, you do have an excellent app there, but when it comes to HYPS, what seems to be a really ckufing awesome app isn't much. I've seen applicants with as good as and better applications than yours, and still were rejected from HYPS. Harvard is a bit of a reach. Yale, not so much; Princeton, same; Stanford ... pretty much the same.

Not to say you don't have a chance, 'cause you do. But other schools like Berkeley or Cornell are matches.

Apply if you want. But do choose a college that you actually want to go to, not one that simply has prestige.

In a rational system you would get accepted to at least one of HYPS.
