Chances to transfer to UChicago?

Currently a freshman at Rutgers Business School, I have a 3.825 gpa. I'm applying for Physics because i am currently double majoring. I know Rutgers is a good school, but I'm leaving because of personal reasons. I already apllied to UChicago, but got rejected.

HS GPA was 3.67, but in all AP classes.
SAT was 2040/2400

I had a lot of ec's and volunteerwork in HS, but I didn't get a chance to do much in the last few months.

I'm not sure how much this helps, but I'm starting and running my own federally registered Politically Action Committee.

Do I have any chance at getting into UChicago or any similar school, or should i aim lower?

Don’t aim lower. You have a chance at UChicago, even if it is a reach (which it is).

You can try Boston College, UIUC, Wisconsin as safeties/matches.

UChicago has a transfer admit rate of about 2%. It’s your call whether it’s a waste of time and money to apply, but if it were me, I’d stay the hell away.

No harm in trying. Reapplication could be seen as determination…or as a failure to come to terms with the truth…but you could play with that idea and bring it up in your application

Ya, theres no harm in trying, besides money, but good luck!
