Chances to UC Berkeley

I go to a school of 50 people, it's a Catholic school.
I am ranked number 1, with a 3.95 GPA.
I took the most rigorous classes they had to offer.. No APs though, just Honors' classes.
I take classes at a local community college
I scored 26 on the ACT
I do A LOT of EC. I am very active in my community.
I am applying as International student because I am not a resident, not until next March.
I am the first one of my family to go to college.

you need like a 30 on the act for a good shot

I don’t know what ACT they look for but obviously the previous poster does. However, I can tell you that if you don’t get in, go to community college and transfer. Take a rigorous course load (Chem, Calculus, Bio, etc…) and keep a high GPA (min. 3.5). Take advantage of programs like Stiles Hall ([Stiles Hall](http://stileshall.org/)) to get assistance with your application and essay.

ACT is wayyyy too low, but GPA is good though. Retake the ACTs or take the SATs instead.

well i already applied. The decisions will come out a month later… so scared!

ps. does international status make it a lot harder?

good fortune to you! don’t know about international student status, but UC Berkeley is VERY competitive. Not only are you competing against the entire local population of the Bay Area (who almost all want to go to Cal), but also the state population and US population. However, schools like diversity.

What will be will be!

oh -.- well as said previously you better start praying and yeah you’ve done your best and you can’t change it anymore so it doesnt matter does it? but yeah if you come from a diverse background that will help.
good luck

rejected. your scores are too low. 26?
um you might get in. just write really stellar/passionate essays. make yourself unique
