Last year me and a team of 2 others won 1st in Network Design at the State Leadership Conference for FBLA

Physics and Engineering team this year

2 bloody brilliant essays if I do say so myself, and my letter of recommendation from the teacher should be brilliant. He has a reputation at UMD from their Physics and Engineering competitions Northern competes in and has won at. I don't know about my counselor letter, she is actually new to the school this year. Shouldn't have anythign bad to say yet, no disciplinary action.

I want to major in Aerospace Engineering. If it makes a difference, my school, Northern High School, is a top 25 feeder school to the Clark School of Engineering.

Probably the most important single factor in getting accepted as an Aerospace Engineering major is your SAT math score. UMD would probably like to see a 700 or higher but 680 may be close enough in light of your other strong credentials.

Thank you for the reply!

Yeah I was really disappointed in my SAT math score, I though I would get at least 720.

I spoke to my guidance counselor today and discovered that my GPA is 3.5 weighted. Also kind of weak.

Not feeling too confident right now lol

well UMD only looks at reading and math scores, yours look solid and you are in state so i dont think you should have a problem getting in

Thank you! Did you mean into the University or into Aerospace engineering?

i meant into the university, not sure about the creditability needed to get into the engineering program, but even so if you get in you can transfer into the program.

I’m just hoping I can get straight into it.

Thank you. :)

I think you have a shot! And UMD to be honest is a pretty easy transfer if your heart is set on going there.

Thank you. :)

I’m not sure that my heart is set on UMD, but money is an issue, so in-state schools are probably my only option since I don’t think I will be awarded a lot of scholarship money. And it is rated highly in Aerospace engineering, so that’s always a plus.

I guess all I can do now is wait 'til late January…
