chances @ top engg colleges

guys what are my chances @ the top engg colleges in the us like mit,stanford,caltech,berkeley,ivies etc . I'm applying as a transfer student,currently doing my 1st yr btech .

Acads(not so great)

SAT-1 (expecting 2200+)
SAT-2(i think i can pull off 800s in math and phy)
IIT JEE 09 - in the top 3000 among 385000 candidates
AIEEE 09 - in the top 3000 among 1 million candidates

10th grade (CBSE)
{eng A- , math A+ , Social studies A+,Science A+,Sanskrit A+(lol) }
12th grade (CBSE)
{straight A+s in eng,math,comp sci,phy and chem}

Extra Curriculars (Almost nothing)

nothing in olympiads ,sports etc
I'm good at computers and have written a few hacking tools

realistically ,what are my chances?

Slim to be honest, unless your computer thing is pretty cool or you have a lot of money :stuck_out_tongue: Did you gain any recognition for your hacking stuff? Which IIT are you in? And why do you want to leave NOW? IITs aren’t THAT bad to transfer I thought :-/

well,to say the least ,i messed up JEE big time,i couldn’t get into the IIT or branch of my choice

but hey its not so bad!,just thought these exams were worth a try ,anyway they seem to be more easier than a branch change

regarding hacking:what i’ve done would probably have a negative effect,can’t boast about blowing up a dozen websites!!

You CAN boast about ethical hacking. Also, the SATs are easy, granted. But by no measure are they ‘entrance tests’. Branch change IS probably easier for you(I know how difficult it is to do that in IIT).
