Chances, transfer student to UVA - McIntire

I'm an international student at Northern Virginia Community College. This is my last year at NOVA.
I'm wondering if I have a chance to get admitted to McIntire.

Ethnic: Asian - Vietnamese
Foreign High School: Nang Khieu High School of the Gifted

My GPA at Northern Virginia Community College: 3.927/4.0, one B in College Composition

First semester: 13 credit hours, Second (summer): 6 credit hours, Third: 22 credit hours (fulfilled prerequisites), Fourth (current): 21 credit hours

Class rank: I think top 10% (that's what my Accounting prof. notes in my transcript)

Presidential Scholar, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

TOEFL iBT score: 99 (Reading: 28, Writing: 27, Listening: 27, Speaking: 17)

SAT I score: (superscore - 2 times):
Reading: 560, Math: 800, Writing: 600

Extracurricular activities:
Environmental club: Officer for 2 semesters.
Rotaract Club: Treasurer for 1 semester.
Part-time job: Bookstore - Staff for 2 months
Volunteer in a few environmental events in D.C.

Recommendation letters from Student Activities Advisor and Accounting professors.

Essay: not good, still working on it.

Thank you very much.

Anyone gives an opinion?

Bump…

What’s McIntire?

Oh. It’s UVA Business Undergraduate School. (UVA being University of Virginia)
Thanks

Apparently they take few transfers, but your resume looks very good! I would say you definitely have a shot.

Actually, I’m not sure if this is a deciding factor, but you probably should take the SAT again. 560 and 600 are a bit low.

Why don’t you post this question over on the UVa Forum and see whether Dean J will answer the question about how important SATs are for transfer students?

@UVAHoo87:
Hi there! To my knowledge, SAT is not required but recommended. I know a friend without SAT score who got into waitlist and then got admitted. In addition, I can not take any SAT now since the deadline is coming close. I just took my second SAT in late Jan.
I have already asked Ms Hessing who is responsible for transfer process about my low SAT score. She said my score is fine.
I’m worrying about my essays, since my SAT essay score is only 6/12 and I’m not good at writing. That’s why I created this thread, to ask for opinions.
Thank you very much for your input.

Anyone? I will chance back.

Hey man,

I just found your post and I’m also hoping to transfer to McIntire (and from NVCC as well).

Sounds like you’re doing pretty well so best of luck. PM me if you want to talk more.

Regards,
Sephyre
