<p>School: first graduating class 2012, large public hs, fairly competitive</p>

<p>Leadership: miscellaneous leadership in academic projects might be talked about in an essay, Director of Public Relations and co-head of fundraising committee for Interact club (founding officer)(2yrs), KHS Ambassador (gave tours to honorary community leaders, etc.)(3 yrs) founding member of Philanthropy Around the World club (2 yrs), yearbook editor and section editor where I set new standards (1 year)</p>

<p>Community Service: Worked on miscellaneous community service projects (100+hrs in all) for PTSA and Athletic Booster Club (individually, gained work experience) fundraised for orphans in China, homeless shelter, Japan relief, etc. through clubs, tutoring individually and through club (2 hrs/wk)</p>

<p>Other clubs: Member of CSF, Key Club, and a few others, but they don't really matter</p>

<p>Other ECs: graphic design - I design things for people voluntarily, and I won an international logo design contest (paid), my surrealist art was selected along with a few others from my school to be displayed at a district art show (7 yrs)</p>

<p>Work experience: Job at local learning center (10-11 or 10-12)</p>

<p>Academic honors: Principal's Honor Roll (4 yrs), academic varsity letter (4 yrs), Golden State Seal Merit Diploma recipient, CSF member, AP Scholar with Honor</p>

<p>Demographics: low income, widowed parent, Muslim, Afghan (Caucasian), female, first gen (both parents attended some college)</p>

<p>If you raise your SAT you will have a greater chance at UCLA, USC, and UCB. Also if you write stellar essays you are in at USC for sure! Congrats on the stats.</p>

<p>My SAT went from 1930 to 2180! which is relaly close to yours… but I agree with above.</p>

<p>Lets hope we both get into UCLA and Cal… becuase my SAT is not moving up…</p>

<p>@Vernon I hope to get somewhere in the mid 2200s by October. I’m buying Direct Hits and I still have 7 practice tests to go to improve on writing. </p>
