I'll be transferring to those schools for the fall of 2011. All what I've been seeing on this forum is UCLA, UCB, and UCSD chances.. ugh.. I thought I'd put a spin to things and include NYU. This is the UC trasnfer forum so... so you don't need to evaluate NYU x]... It'll be very much appreciated if you guys gave feed back.

Overall GPA 3.23. Transfer GPA:3.45

The prealgebra class doesnt count for transfer credit so it brought down my overall GPA but dear god left my transfer GPA to a 3.45. I dropped chemistry because I had some personal problems. But I am planning to retake it next semester and earn that A. I sill have 4 semesters left including summer. As for the next 1.5 years I believe I can pull my transfer GPA from a 3.45 to a 3.6-3.8.

Thank you! Feedback... I was just so scared when I saw those Bs for Bio. Oh I will be majoring in Physiology at UCLA, Human Biology at UCSD and Biology at NYU if that helps with the evaluation.

Bio is impacted at UCSD so its kind of a stretch, maybe ull get in, UCLA not looking so good right now, and neither is NYU, NYU requires u to subit ur HS grades as well (hopefully those pull up ur GPA) and u need to turn in SAT scores for them

You got a D in Pre-Algebra? In no way should you be expecting to get into a good school like UCLA with a D in Pre-Algebra. You have years of math to do bro, years.

Like others stated, most bio programs at 4 year universities require Calculus as a pre-req. Not taking the class and getting a D in pre-algebra will definitely hinder your chances at all 3 of your choices.

I majored in applied math and I took Elemetary and Intermediate algebra 2 times. Dont let that discourage you.

UCSD- Sign the Tag, have it be your safety school.

UCLA- you need all the preqs and a slightly higher gpa to be as good as in.

Physiological Sciences has admit rate for 47% with average gpa of admitted 3.56

So , a 3.6 gpa with all PREQ done makes you highly competative for UCLA

NYU- i have no idea how their admissions process works

FYI: Your chances are close to impossible to predict because you just started community college, you havent done much but random IGETC and you are not yet at the heart of your required preqs.

You need to ask for chances this time next year.

D in Pre-Algebra… At this rate I have to agree with those who said no chance at any. That is a very basic math course and to even have a chance at transferring to any of those 3 schools, you will need to pull at least a C in College Algebra. Plus you have barely taken any classes and still have a long way to go, so you should probably post this thread next year when you apply to these schools.
