Chances: UC's, UMich, NW, NYU, WashU, JHU, UT

Hey all, I've already sent in all my applications but I was still wondering how I may do...I'm a Pakistani student in Texas at a Newsweek Top 100 High School

UW GPA: 3.4
W GPA: 4.2
UC GPA: 3.8

SAT: 1500 / 2110
ACT: 31
SAT II: 750 Math II, 740 Physics, 650 Biology E

Rank: 110/550 (Top 20%)
I've taken all the hardest courses possible, 10 APs total by the time I graduate

I think my essays are pretty good, my main essay was about dealing with my cousin being kidnapped and having to go through the entire trauma of the kidnappers asking for a ransom, trying to communicate with the rest of my family (throughout the world) to try and get everything figured out, and eventually having soldiers from the army save him (he's ok now!). The rest of my essays should be at least decent. A NYU specific one was very well received by whoever I showed it to so I guess that is good.

Awards:

National Merit Commended, AP Honor with Distinction, National Latin Exam Maxima Cum Laude

ECs:

I think they're above average, they include over 300 hours of leadership activities, another 100 of religious community service, Relay for Life, and some other stuff like NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, and some school clubs.

Universities:

Northwestern
University of Michigan
Washington University
Johns Hopkins
UCLA
UCSD
NYU
UT Austin (in-state)

I know my UW GPA and rank are awfully low but I'm hoping I still have a shot at more than UT (if even)...thanks in advance!

Out of state for publics, especially UCLA and UCSD, will sigificantly lower your chances. 99% of students at UCSD and 98% of students at UCLA are in the top 10% of their high school class, and out of state you will likely have to be even better than that. Both schools also have an instate average admit GPA of above 4.0. However, that being said, your SAT's are above both of those two schools averages, so that is deffiantly a plus. Best of luck.

Northwestern: Reach
University of Michigan: Slight Reach (out of state)
Washington University: Reach
Johns Hopkins: Reach
UCLA: Reach (out of state)
UCSD: Slight Reach-Reach (out of state)
NYU: Match
Texas-Austin: Match (in state)

hopkins median stats are listed on another jhu chance thread, it's basically a couple of threads below you just look at it and you can chance yourself which will be most accurate gl!

Northwestern - slim chance
University of Michigan - OK chance (not great)
Washington University - slim chance
Johns Hopkins - slim chance
UCLA - OK chance
UCSD - good chance
NYU - good chance
UT Austin (in-state) - in

Northwestern - Reach
University of Michigan - Reach (UM weighs GPA heavily...and your OOS, hell I was deferred in-state with a 3.65 UW + 32 ACT, with legacy, and with great ECs and my app was complete in early October; same with two friends in-state with 3.7's and 31/33 though they applied much later then me(respectively)..both deferred. It will probably be a slight reach if you apply very early at the best)
Washington University - Reach
Johns Hopkins - Reach
UCLA - Reach
UCSD - Slight Reach
NYU - Slight Reach
UT Austin (in-state) - Slight Reach (your well outside of top 10%... :S)

I think you need some more matches/safeties

Thanks all, I figured my chances would be about the same as yall predicted, it's just reassuring to get responses from more than one person.

Oh, and some further clarification: I'm applying to all schools with Neuroscience as my first choice major and Business as my second choice. And also for recs I have a teacher with a PhD who knows me pretty well write mine for me, he claims his letter of rec got another student into Michigan last year so that got my hopes up somewhat.
