Colleges Applying To:
UCB
UCLA
UCSD
UCSB
UCI
UCR

I hope to write extremely well-written essays. I also qualified for the ELC and the National Honor Roll.

thegame2388:

UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCSB: Match
UCR: Safe Match

Your chances in my opinion:

UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach to Reach
UCSD/UCI/UCSB/UCD: Match
UCSC: Safe Match
UCR/UCM: Safety

P.S. Of the schools you are likely to get into, UCSB and UCSD probably have the best chemistry programs.

Good luck.

Honestly, I can accept a rejection from UCB. UCLA's rejection will hurt a lot, even more so if friends of mine get accepted there; as for UCSD, which is the other good school in Southern California, a rejection from there would mean suicide.

Hmm...I think what hurts you are your SATs and SAT IIs. Your GPA is pretty solid and your ECs are meh.....all clubs for 1 or 2 years. Btw your ethnicity doesn't matter.

UCB: 15%
UCLA: 25%
UCSD: 55%
UCI: 80%
UCSB: 85%
UCR: 99%

Good luck.

I Really Want Ucsd!!!

well then boost your sat.

go buy the blue sat book, and just do the practice problems and then UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ****ED UP!!!!!
SAT courses teach you nothing at all. learning what you did wrong will help.
do that and you'll break 2000. also study sparknotes.com sat writing study guide. START RIGHT NOW LIKE RIGHT NOW GOGOGOOGOGOGOGOOGOOGOGOOGOGOOGOOGGOOGO
also please explain how you got an a in math but have atrocious math sat scores.

oh btw for uc's:
GPA > SAT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>essays>>>>>>EC's

but like i said, the sat is about doing the practice problems. good luck.

He's right, buy the blue SAT book.

If you're studying the same way as before, you're not going to jump 60 points the first retake, then 120 points the second retake.

I didn't really study between the first and second retake. I recently bought the 11 SAT TESTS from the Princeton Review and I'm going over that. I really want 2000+ so I mean, as I've heard, my GPA is good enough but the SAT's is what's holding me back. I'm pretty sure October will be my last test but let's say if it's not good enough, can I still take it in December? How would the colleges receive my score?

UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCSB: Match
UCR: Safe Match

I was to make UCSD a safe match.

UCSD a safe match with a ~4.00 weighted?
2300+/800/770+

......a little realism.....please!

if you want to be realistic, then dont try to make ucsd a safe match.

face it - uc's focus mainly gpa and sat, both of which you are lacking in.

while ELC will help, it does not make sd a safe match.

ucsd puts a lot of weight in stuff outside of the SAT and GPA.

leadership, personal challanges, income, etc. count for a whole lot of points.

My GPA is lacking? How is it lacking? It's only lacking because of that damn 8 semesters cap rule. My SAT score will go up next time.

although ur overall gpa is not bad considering you go to a very challenging school...however your ec, sat1, sat2 r not great...idk for my school ucsd is safety for 2000+ sat 1 and 3.5 unweighted

however, ur downward trend in grades is not too great...also it is certain ethnicity doesn;t matter...since ucs black out ur ethnicity b4 looking at application. it should also be noted that ur school probably is not too challenging since u were able to manage such gpa with low sat 2 scores
but u know your school better than i so you decide

Take off the cap and see how it changes. I'll bet that ucsd's average (uncapped) is 4.2 or so.

How am I showing a DOWNWARD trend?

I've gone from 3.67,3.8,3.8,3.8,4.17,4.33

That looks like an upwards trend to me.
