chances, unique situation

<p>ive been wondering about this-- i applied ED to the college by the way..</p>

<p>sat scores (Sat 1 and both 2's) are all in the mid 600 range
GPA = 4.0 unweighted, 4.4 weighted - grades and SATS just dont match
most rigorous senior courseload possible, 11 honors throughout
prestigious private school in PA with a great relationship with Penn - 7 kids matriculated last year alone, 20-25 in the past 4 years</p>

<p>here is just a brief sampling of my EC's (i attached a resume)
Piano Lessons, Nelly Berman School of Music (Haverford, PA) 10 years
- compose, perform, competitions won throughout 9th and 10th
Habitat for Humanity - Co-President
Member of Service Learning Board

<p>Summer Activities: Backpacking/Kayaking trip based in Jackson Hole, WY (after freshman year, essay is about an experience from this trip) Brown University non-credit Mini-Courses on Cognitive Philosophy and Economics (after sophomore year) Georgetown University 6-week 3-credit course entitled Gateway to Business</p>

<p>and - both parents went to penn for undergrad, dad has Ph.D and Masters from penn, and my dad teaches economics as the penn's SAS and finance at Wharton</p>

<p>will this connection compensate for my below average SAT scores? what are my chances? ill answer more questions if you want to know more</p>

<p>every school loves legacy. but i dont know about upenn. it wont hurt you. </p>

<p>as long as your numbers (SAt wise) are all above 650, i think you're ok numberwise.</p>

<p>your e/cs are eh. its hard to tell where your passions lie. </p>

<p>i predict a deferral.</p>

<p>let me hear some more feedback</p>

<p>Penn does give a huge advantage to underqualified but overprivileged people, especially in ED.</p>
