you're credentials are very similar to mine. i had a 4.0 gpa, was 3/500 in my class had a 1380 on the sat, and had some really really good ec's with leadership positions. i got into duke ed when everyone told me i wouldn't get in. i would really work on your sats/act and get that score up. i think having a 1380 was on the low side but i still managed to get in, just work as hard as you can with it. play up your leadership positions in essays and stuff, duke really loves that. you have a legacy i noticed so that should be very helpful. being ed and having a legacy is probably close to a 50 percent acceptance rate atleast. good luck!

Thanks. My SATs are low, but I'm pretty confident I can raise them.
When you say 50% acceptance rate, do you mean that of legacies that apply ED, about half get in, or are you saying that I have a 50% chance of getting in with my legacy and ED?

no i mean it makes your chances higher with a legacy than without. a lot of legacies get in early. like if you a normal ed applicant the rate is about 34 percent, but being a legacy just increases it.

I would say get your Math + Verbal composite score up to Duke's 25th percentile and then you should get in with your legacy status. 1310 may be too low even with legacy though and ED. Most people I know of who applied ED and got in had SAT scores above 1450 and there were even a few 1600's in the group. However, good luck!
