I may update this as I remember additional noteworthy items. Thanks again for reading and offering feedback.

I don’t think you really have a shot at MIT. You don’t have strong math/science test scores, nor are you very advanced in math, nor do you have math/science ECs (olympiads, bowls, etc). Also, there’s no such course as AP Physics A. Nor can you get a GPA above 5.0 (unless your school uses a different scale; in this case, please explain this scale).

Wharton is extremely hard to get into.

For the rest, you have an okay chance at all. Your EC’s and academics don’t stand out as either lacking or superlative, so it will really come down to mostly luck (and of course, essays, interviews, recommendations, etc.)

roflmao 2100 SAT score? you’re joking right…my school has kids with 2350s that get rejected from schools like yale, upenn wharton, columbia, other ivys…

and they were pretty stacked too. just saying, you need top of the line EC’s and SATs if you want to stand a chance.

EDIT: Sorry for being rude and depressing, but i dont want you to wake up one day and be like WAT I DIDNT GET ACCEPTED ANYWHERE! id say make sure to get safeties…id say any low tier 1 or top tier 2 school wud be a great safety

First, I have to say you’re probably right about MIT. I will clarify though that I am taking the most advanced math classes offered at my school. Regarding Physics A, that is what my online course manager displays, so I just put that. What is the correct course title?

My GPA would end up above 5.0 with the inclusion of add-on points earned in AP courses. Not aware of any technicalities regarding going this high, as it hasn’t been done at my school before. 4.0 scale.

This I am obviously well-aware of. I come from a family of business-owners and plan to elaborate on this in an essay.

Thanks for your thoughts. :)

Haha don’t worry about it, man. I’ve done enough research to know that 2100 isn’t stellar at all. But I’ve also seen kids get in with less. Perhaps those from your school were rejected for lack of humility?

I have safety schools; why would I need to ask for chances for them? These are schools that fall in the grey area for me.

ok. Number-wise, you’re below average for the top schools. Can’t argue there, the only thing you can do is try and bring up those scores.

Ec’s, also, are good but not outstanding. The only thing I see that would help you a lot in getting into those colleges is American Legion ‘Americanism Test Winner’, but that’s only if it’s a legit test that many american students take. I’ve never heard of it myself, but maybe it’s just not in the east coast. lol

oh wait, I take that back, your musical accomplishments are quite impressive as well. But still, I don’t see them getting you into any top schools unless you’re able to really make them significant in your essays, etc.

Sorry if I’m blunt as well, but I also do not want you to be disappointed. At this point, it’s just a shot in the dark for who’s getting into what school. Good luck! Would you like to chance me back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1181905-chance-me-hpysm.html</a></p>

I am going to agree with what others have said. Without seeing your essays/rec’s, I can’t see you getting into any of the schools you listed besides Georgetown (which isn’t even a guarantee) With below average test scores and average EC’s (your music stuff is good, but it seems like a lot of people have comparable achievements), I just don’t believe you will get into top 10 schools. Also, you probably shouldn’t even report your AP scholar award…you have gotten 1 B in high school, but only have a 3.0 AP average? I don’t enjoy being harsh like this and we are only trying to help.

Haha. The people above me are candid! You guys should chance my thread if you guys have a chance (shameless self-promotion). Also, while I do agree with them, I think the fact that your essay might be a stellar one, and the fact that you’re from a small town (not sure how small), might boost your chances.

Well, the only AP Physics tests that exist are Physics B and the two Physics C tests. I don’t know what your school calls it, but I would guess that it’s Physics B, since there is no AP test for physics A.

Do AP classes count as 2 extra points rather than just one at your school?

Why don’t you post the link here, then?

I’ve known several 2400s get rejected from ivies, stanford, MIT, etc (one of them got rejected from all 10 of those schools), while I’ve known a couple kids with 2000-2200 get into all of them. SAT isn’t the only factor (which is unfortunate for me, as I too have a 2400).

You’re clearly above the rest, but you definitely have some places witch are problematic, your ACT and SAT clearly. But in my opinion the biggest problem is your ECs. Don’t get me wrong they’re great, but you have no particularly spectacular thing there that can compete with other Ivy acceptances. I hate to be a downer, but do you have any specific leadership positions? Or any individual award or achievement that can seperate you from the rest?

@bobtheboy and others ofc.
here it is:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1206111-chance-me-ivy-leagues-nyu-stanford-others.html</a>
Be as critical as you can.

And yeah, Essays and EC’s definitely play a huge role when it comes to top ranking schools like where OP is applying to, where high standardized test scores are commonplace.
