UVA, match
Virginia Tech, safety
NYU, low match
Columbia, reach
Stanford, reach

Your SAT scores are a tad low, and Stanford/Columbia receive too many “asian who has done everything, but nothing spectacular” types.

thanks! fingers crossed

i’ll chance you back come on! :)

UVA - match
VT - safety
NYU - match
Columbia - reach
Stanford - reach

it looks like you took great classes and have decent ECs, but your scores are just a little low for Columbia and Stanford. it’s such a toss-up with those, though, so if you want to apply, go for it.

thanks  yeah i’m applying to columbia and stanford just to see what’ll happen but UVA is definitely my first choice.

UVA- Match
Tech- Safety
NYU-Match
Columbia-Reach
Stanford-Reach

Good luck! It sounds like you have a stellar course rigor. It also sounds like UVA is your top choice, and I think that is your best chance out of any school on this list. Good luck! Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1426652-ohio-state-chances.html</a></p>

thanks! just did :)

UVA- match
VTech- safety
NYU- match
Columbia- reach
Stanford- reach

Like other posters have said, your scores are a bit low especially for an Asian, but your EC’s look pretty good to me, especially the dance.

UVA - mid/high match
VT - safety
NYU - low reach
Columbia - high reach.
Stanford - Impossible to predict

Can you chance me back? Also, make sure you read the 2nd page of my thread before you chance me.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1407315-chances-carnegie-mellon-mcs-ed.html</a></p>

You’ll most likely get into UVA, probably a 70% chance. You’re in at Tech, and probably in at NYU (probably 70% chance at NYU). You should apply to Columbia and Stanford to see what happens, but I’d be pretty surprised if you got into one of those schools due to your test scores (below average SAT 1, and weak SAT 2). Good luck!

thanks guys! everyone has been chanced back

UVA: Match
Virginia Tech: Low match
NYU: Safety
Columbia: Reach
Stanford: Reach

Your SAT is on the low end for the more competitive schools, but you have a fantastic shot at UVA. Since you live in VA and have those scores/GPA, they can’t really reject you  Tech is a safety.

You have a very rigorous courseload, and I love your ambition for applying to Stanford and Columbia! You’re SAT and ACT scores are just a little towards the bottom for those two schools, but admissions at those level schools are very unpredictable and you still never know whether or not you are going to be accepted unless you try. Definitely in at NYU, Virginia Tech, and UVA!

Like the poster above me said, your courseload is impressive, and they really care about whether you took the most rigorous courses you were offered, so that’s good. Your SAT/ACT scores are a bit low, though, so if you’re not retaking, you would be better off sending in your SAT scores, though. The rest will really depend on your interviews/essay, which really help determine for the most part whether or not you get in, so keep your fingers crossed on that.

UVA: pretty good match
Virginia Tech: low match
NYU: safety
Columbia: a reach for the most part
Stanford: reach

For schools like Columbia and Stanford, though, they both are very big on diversity so you really have to stand out - they value that. Perhaps take on some very interesting EC’s that no one else is doing or write a really quirky/interesting essay. Like mentioned before, don’t go the standard “Asian who has done everything and succeeded at everything” route because they want uniqueness. Good luck!

Chance me back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1428588-northwestern-columbia-swarthmore-carnegie-m-hopkins-upenn-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

I think Tech is essentially a safety and UVA should be an acceptance too. Your grades and rigor are great, and a 2070 is a solid score. Good luck!

UVA: Low match
Virginia Tech: safe
NYU: high match
Columbia: Reach
Stanford: Reach

I honestly wouldn’t bother applying to Columbia or Stanford, if I were you. You should get accepted to UVA.

In at NYU and Va Tech, UVA = low match, Stanford and Columbia = reaches.

i’ll chance back! :)
